Cat bites are responsible for up 3–15% of these cases. This article has more information on cat bites, safety tips, first aid, and when to seek medical attention. Cats can bite when they become spooked or scared. Cats carry a variety of pathogens in and on their bodies. In some cases, cat bites may lead to mild to severe infections. 16 people share the weird 'quirk' their pet does that no one believes - Upworthy

Image
When my old dog Murray really wanted to tell me something and his barking or pawing didn't get the job done, he would start making sounds that I swear mimicked human speech. Now, I'm not entirely sure that he was attempting to get through to me as a member of my own species would, but I don't know how else to explain this quirky behavior. It's pretty amazing when we see our pets cross the imaginary line that separates the species by exhibiting human-like behaviors. But if you were to try to explain them to someone who's never had a dog or cat (or parrot you will soon see) most of them would probably just shrug it off. So, I never really talked to anyone about my dog's strange but funny human impersonation. Reddit user DMLorance created a safe space for pet owners to share their stories that no one believes on the AskReddit subforum. "Pet owners of Reddit. What quirk does your pet (past or present) do that nobody believes when you tell them?" Here are 1...

Image
It's not uncommon to get an occasional scratch when you play with your cat. However, it's important to take care of your wound and monitor it carefully for complications. Not all cat scratches are dangerous, but certain circumstances may increase your risk of developing certain diseases and other health risks. Read on to learn more about some of the possible dangers associated with cat scratches, and whether you need to seek medical attention. Even during seemingly harmless play with your feline companion, occasional cat scratches are inevitable. Johns Hopkins Medicine says that kittens under 1 year old are even more prone to scratching — you may notice more incidents during play and laptime snuggles as your younger cat is getting used to their movements. Regardless of age, cat scratches can mean more than just pain and temporary red or discolored marks. These wounds can sometimes sting, bleed, and even become infected. Both feral and domesticated cats may also transmit certain...

23 Most Aggressive Dog Breeds, According To a New Study - Countryliving (UK)

Rough Collies are the most aggressive dog breed, a new study of more than 9,000 pets has found. Research conducted by the University of Helsinki found that smaller dogs are more likely to behave aggressively, growl, snap, and bark compared to mid-sized and large dogs. While no one dog breed is inherently vicious, some other breeds found to exhibit aggression include German Shepherds, Miniature Poodles and Chihuahuas. The findings, published in Scientific Reports, discovered that male dogs are more aggressive than females, while a pup's personality can also affect its likelihood to display aggression around people. "In our dataset, the Long-Haired Collie, Poodle (Toy, Miniature and Medium) and Miniature Schnauzer were the most aggressive breeds," Professor Hannes Lohi from the University of Helsinki, tells MailOnline. "Previous studies have shown fearfulness in Long-Haired Collies, while the other two breeds have been found to express aggressive behaviour towards u...
